Boise, ID (CBS2) — Boise Police responded to a report of a crash on Friday just before 4:30 pm on the 700 block of Curtis Rd.
When police arrived they found the suspect Justin Malek, 39, from Boise had intentionally crashed into the HVAC unit of a building. After the crash, Malek proceeded to get out of the vehicle and threaten a bystander with a large chain.
Justin Malek took out a firearm when police arrived and began firing in the direction of the officers. Boise police were able to talk with Malek who then quickly complied with officers and surrendered. There were no injuries to bystanders or officers or Malek.
Malek was taken to a nearby hospital and evaluated then booked into the Ada County Jail on two counts of felony battery, felony aggravated assault and felony malicious injury to property.
