Drifting is an essential part of Disney Speedstorm as it allows you to turn more smoothly while also gaining a small speed boost when done properly.
To drift, simply hold the drift button (LT on Controller, Shift on Keyboard) until sparks show up and your wheels start to glow. Release and you’ll complete the drift and gain a small speed boost.
In this guide, I will explain how to use Manual Boost and drift in Disney Speestorm to help you gain an edge over your opponents.
Keep in mind that drifting speed and control will depend on which Racer you’re using. Make sure to check out our tier list of the best Racer and Class in Disney Speedstorm.
How to Drift in Disney Speedstorm
Drifting is one of the most important mechanics in Disney Speedstorm. It helps players turn more sharply, while also offering a small speed boost afterward to outspeed other Racers.
Overall, it’s an essential mechanic to master, especially if you want to try your luck on the Ranked game modes.
To drift in Disney Speedstorm, start by holding the drift button. This is the Left Trigger (LT) for Controller, or the Shift key if you’re using a keyboard.
Then, release the drift button once your tires start glowing and you see sparks coming off them. If done properly, you’ll gain a small boost afterward and it will fill up your Manual Boost bar.
Keep in mind that to acquire that small speed boost afterward, you’ll need to drift for at least 1.5 seconds.
How to Fill and Use Manual Boost in Disney Speedstorm
As mentioned, performing a successful drift also fills up your Manual Boost bar. This bar can be seen at the top of your screen and fills up slowly as you drift and collect power-ups.
Based on your class, this will fill faster. For instance, Racers belonging to the Trickster class will gain more progress to their Manual Boost bar after drifting. This includes characters such as Megara, Mulan, and Jack Sparrow.
This bar can only be used when full and I recommend using it when there are no boost pads nearby. This is because boost pads do not stack with Manual boost (you won’t gain extra speed).
Keep in mind that hitting a boost pad while using Manual Boost will refill your bar slightly.
Wrapping up
To sum up this Disney Speedstorm guide, this is everything you need to know on how to use manual boost and drift.
Drifting takes practice and good timing on the drift button, while Manual Boost requires managing your boost bar properly and using it at the right time.
