BOISE, ID (CBS2) — We're introduced you to their Director T.J. Eriksen, and now - the Eagle High School Thundering Mustang Band is competing on the blue at Boise State for district competition - and winning some big awards!
Big smiles and even bigger awards for the Eagle High School Thundering Mustangs Marching band as they competed for the top spot in Idaho State's 3rd district!
They won first place and all captions in their division, including best musical performance, best visual performance, best general effect, best percussion, and best colorguard.
The Mustangs also earned the district 3 sweepstakes champion award!
This is the first time in 20 years the sweepstakes award comes back to a West Ada School.
And it took dedication to get here, Director T. J Eriksen tells us these kids put in 145-165 hours a year outside of school rehearsals for marching band - a sacrifice that is paying off in a big way!
Congratulations to the Eagle High School Thundering Mustang Marching Band!
We are so thankful for all of our leaders and educators across the Treasure Valley and we want to recognize them!
