The line-up for the Irish leg of OZZFEST 2002 has been finalized.

Joining Ozzy Osbourne at the touring metal event, are Tool, System Of A Down and Slayer.

This year's event takes place at the Punchestown Racecourse on May 26, according to the Irish promoter website www.mcd.ie. Tickets go on sale March 8.

Plans are underway for an Ozzfest in the UK this summer. It is rumored that the event, with a similar line-up, will take place at Castle Donington, around June.

The Charlatans to Headline Glastonbury

THE CHARLATANS are to headline the MAIN STAGE at GLASTONBURY on the festival's opening day, June 28.

The five-piece band is the first major act to confirm their place at Glastonbury. Radiohead, Starsailor, The Strokes, Roger Waters and Rod Stewart have all been heavily mooted but none have admitted they will be there.

Supergrass and James Brown Confirmed For a Three-Day Essential Festival In Bristol

SUPERGRASS, JAMES BROWN, THE BETA BAND and RONI SIZE are amongst the acts confirmed for a three-day ESSENTIAL FESTIVAL in BRISTOL. The first Essential event of 2002 has been confirmed to take place at Ashton Court in Bristol over the May Day bank holiday weekend (May 4-6).

The event will be split in to three separate days, the first being 'Dance', then 'Rock' and finally 'Roots'.

At the 'Dance' day (May 4), acts confirmed include a DJ set from Orbital's Phil Hartnoll, Royksopp, Roni Size, Adam F, Richie Hawtin and Judge Jules, amongst others.

The 'Rock' day (May 5) features Supergrass, The Beta Band, Shed Seven, Therapy? and Six By Seven, amongst others, while the 'Roots' day includes appearances by James Brown, De La Soul, Asian Dub Foundation, Lee Perry and Courtney Pine.

Tickets are priced £35 per day and went on sale February 23, in Bristol, and nationwide later this week. Camping at the event will not be available.
