Fatima Sana Shaikh was born on 11th January 1992 (age 29 years; as of 2021) in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. Her hometown is Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her family and friends call her by the name Fatty. She always wanted to be an actress and got the very first film of her life at the age of 5 in 1997, which was Chachi 420. She was fond of acting since her childhood and always wanted to work in films.Her dream of acting came true after she played a child artist’s role in the film Chachi 420. She was loved and appreciated by everyone for her job in the film.
In 2001, she did One 2 Ka 4; which was the second film of her career, starring prominent actors Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan.
Later she appeared in several movies like Bade Dilwala, Tahaan(2008), Bitto Boss(2012), Akash Vani(2013) etc.In 2009, she also appeared in TV serial such as Ladies Special, where she played the role of the daughter of one of the protagonists and Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, in which she played a negative role.
In 2015, she got selected to play a lead role, Geeta Phogat in the highest-grossing movie of 2016, Dangal, after a long audition process. This movie was the first hit of her career and with her power-packed performance in the film, she came into the limelight instantly.
In 2017, she got selected for another movie Thugs of Hindustan; starring Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Katrina Kaif.
