Tech Businessman Steve Huffman also known by his Reddit username spez, was born between 1983 and 1984, in Lansing, Michigan, U.S. Steve Huffman grew up in Warrenton, Virginia.

He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Huffman into a Christian family.

At age 8, he began programming computers. He graduated in 2001 from Wakefield School in The Plains, Virginia. At the University of Virginia (UVA), he studied computer science, graduating in 2005.

He and Ohanian launched Reddit in June 2005, funded by Y Combinator. He moved from owning the platform as a co-founder to being an employee and currently serving as the platform’s chief executive officer.

Along his career in the tech industry which spans close to two decades, he found love along the way but his it failed and now he is seemingly private about that side of his life.

Who is Steve Huffman’s wife? Steve Huffman aka Spez has publicly been married once in his entire life. He was married to a woman named Katie Babiarz in 2009, exactly four years after he launched Reddit.

Huggman and Babiarz started dating when they were both University of Virginia (UVA) students and were long-distance partners until they eventually tied the knot.

Years later, the couple divorced and he has since then stayed private about his personal life.

At the moment, he seems to be compeletly single; not married (hence as no wife), and not in any relationship (hence has no girlfriend).

On March 2023, Steve Huffman was photographed with an unknown woman at a party hosted by Radhika Jones. It is unclear if the two are dating.

He lives in San Francisco, California.

Does Steve Huffman have any children?

Reddit’s CEO Steve Huffman is not known to be a father yet. He reportedly has no children and there have been no reports of him welcoming a son or a daughter with his ex-wife or current partner (if any).

Since he’s extremely love life and family off the public’s eye, he could be having kids but keeping them low-key.

Steve Huffman is currently the CEO of Reddit, a platform he co-founded.

He is the co-founder and CEO of Reddit, a social news and discussion website, which ranks in the top 20 websites in the world. He’s been active in the role ever since and even earned a spot in Fortune magazine‘s “40 Under 40” column.

Spez co-founded Reddit in 2005 alongside fellow programmer Aaron Swartz and entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian.

Huffman and his co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, met at the University of Virginia. They were roommates when they conceived of the idea that would eventually become Reddit. Reddit launched in June 2005 with funding from tech incubator Y Combinator. At the time Huffman hand-picked the front page’s content.

On October 31, 2006, Alexis and Steve sold Reddit to Conde Nast for a reported $10 – $20 million. Huffman stayed on as CEO until 2009. He returned as CEO in 2015.

In the years he spent away from Reddit, Huffman co-founded a travel website called Hipmunk. Hipmunk’s mission was to supply travelers with real-time information and data organized in multiple ways. The platform shut down in 2020.

Huffman has expressed regret for selling Reddit so early. He has also admitted he never could have imagined Reddit becoming as big as it is today.

In April 2023, Reddit announced that it was planning to roll out paid access to API, a function that has been free on the platform since 2008. The new policy has all but forced third-party applications on Reddit to shut down. Many users and moderators who use these third-party apps to improve their overall user experience on Reddit have expressed outrage over the new changes.

Users subsequently staged a protest in mid-June by slowing or ceasing all activity on the platform in a site-wide boycott.

Spez attempted to clear the air in an AMA (Ask Me Anything) conference that same month, but was reportedly met with “seemingly universal anger,” according to The Verge. During this conference, he doubled down on the site’s API charges, which certainly didn’t help things.
