WASHINGTON (TND) — Former President Donald Trump on Thursday labeled Vice President Kamala Harris's first major interview of her campaign "boring."
Harris, alongside her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, sat down with CNN anchor Dana Bash Thursday. The interview followed weeks of Harris fielding accusations of dodging the press.
Bash questioned Harris on a number of topics, including the economy, immigration, and her day one priorities if elected. However, Trump indicated shortly after he was unimpressed with the vice president's answers.
"BORING!!!" he wrote via Truth Social.
The Trump campaign also issued a response to the interview, pointing to a number of topics the vice president "failed to address," such as the nation's "crime crisis."
"Kamala said her values 'have not changed' three separate times," the campaign wrote. "She's still a San Francisco radical."
Bash during the interview pointed out that Harris and Trump have yet to formally "interact" with each other. The anchor then asked Harris to respond to the former president's July claim that she "happened to turn Black" for "political purposes."
Same old tired playbook," Harris responded. "Next question, please."Harris and Trump will meet for their first presidential debate on Sept. 10. The debatewill not feature an audience and candidates' microphones will be muted when they aren’t speaking, according to the Associated Press.
The muting of mics was a condition initially agreed upon by Trump and President Joe Biden before the Democrat exited the race. The Harris campaign previously pushed for microphones to be live throughout the Sept. 10 debate, arguing it would “fully allow for substantive exchanges between the candidates.”
